Several scholarship opportunities are offered by the American Legion. Visit their website at www.nhlegion.org or www.legion.org There are various deadlines.
Applications are available for various Elks National Foundation Scholarships on their website www.elks.org/enf/scholars Several awards are granted at the state and national level. Various deadlines.
The Medallion Fund offers scholarships to students attending vocational or technical programs not leading to a 4 year degree. Applications are online at www.nhcf.org. There is no deadline.
The NH Charitable Foundation manages several scholarships throughout the state. To name 3: Dunkin Donuts, Fisher Cats and Citizens Bank. Each scholarship has its own deadline. There is one application to fill out. Check their website www.nhcf.org often for available scholarships and specific deadlines.

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund offers several scholarships to students of Hispanic heritage. You must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 along with several other eligibility requirements. There are several different deadlines and different scholarships. Must apply on line at www.hsf.net
The Inspire the Future “Write On” Scholarship contest is open to students ages 13-18. Enter by writing 500-750 words about the Patriots’ most recent game. $1,000-$15,000 will be awarded. Visit www.TotallyPatriots.com for more info.
The Medallion Fund
The Medallion Fund was created by a group of area businessmen who recognize that a skilled workforce is critical for expanding economic development. The goal of the fund is to assist individuals who are interested attending accredited vocational or technical programs for the purpose of improving their workforce skills, especially in areas of need in the state of New Hampshire.
There is no deadline. Applications are accepted at any time during the year. The selection committee meets monthly to consider awards.
New Hampshire residents of any age who are enrolling in any accredited vocational or technical program that does NOT lead to a four-year baccalaureate or advanced degree. For example, a candidate might be planning to attend a community college, vocational/technical school, trade school, apprenticeship, or other short-term training program such as automotive technology, tractor-trailer school, HVAC certification, or nursing assistant certification.
Scholarships with deadlines
The Nashua Teacher’s Union Scholarship is available in C2003. Only senior children/dependents of NTU members are eligible to apply. Deadline is Apr. 7
The Class of ’65-Warren “Beaver” Brown Scholarship application is available in C2003. First preference is given to the child or grandchild of a ’65 graduate, though any senior planning to attend college may apply. Deadline is Apr. 8
Applications for the Nashua Historical Society are available at www.nashuahistoricalsiciety.org Preference is given to students pursuing a history related degree. Deadline is Apr. 8.
Applications for the J. Wilfred Anctil Foundation Scholarship are available on www.anctilfoundation.org Any senior going to college should apply. Deadline to apply is Apr. 8.
Applications for the John H. Giacobbe Scholarship are available in C2003. You must be a senior who graduated from Pennichuck Middle School and plan on furthering your education in the field of music. Deadline is Apr. 8
Applications for the Antique Automobile Club of America Scholarship are available at www.aaca.org/granite. You must be pursuing higher education in the automotive field as a restorer, mechanic, technician, designer, engineer, automotive journalist or other related field. Deadline is Apr. 11
Applications for the Nashua College Club Scholarship for Women are available in C2003. You must be a young woman planning on attending a four college. Deadline is Apr. 12
Citizens Bank High School Achievement Award www.nhcf.org
The Citizens Bank High School Achievement Award is given to qualifying high school seniors who plan to continue their education at a college, university or vocational/technical school. The $1,000 award is based on students’ academic achievement, character and financial need. One award per school, from a selected list of high schools in New Hampshire towns where Citizens Bank has a branch presence, will be given to a qualified student each year. Completed applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. on April 15, 2010.
Dunkin' Donuts Scholarship www.nhcf.org
New Hampshire’s Dunkin’ Donuts franchises are committed to supporting the educational aspirations of their customers. They created a scholarship program to honor local students who embody its mission to help those that serve others. The scholarship program is open to any qualified New Hampshire student; however, Dunkin’ Donuts has a preference for those students interested in pursuing careers in business, hospitality or food service industries. Applications must be submitted by April 15, 2010.
The Fisher Cats Foundation is dedicated to bettering the lives of young people. A scholarship program has been developed to help achieve that mission. Candidates for the Fisher Cats Scholarship must be residents of New Hampshire or from select high schools in Massachusetts, who are graduating from high school in 2011. Candidates may be planning to enroll in a four-year degree program or planning to attend a local community college or technical school in the fall. Candidates do not need to be studying in any particular field.

Monsignor Philip Kenney Scholarship
An established scholarship fund to benefit Hispanic and other ethnic minority students in New Hampshire. Since 1986, $170,000 has been awarded to 150 students.
The Kenney Fund seeks to support a diverse minority population — but the first preference is for Hispanic youth. Both traditional college age students and adult students may apply. Students may be planning to attend a local community college or vocational/technical school, be enrolling in a four-year degree program or even studying part-time. Students must be in a degree program or in a recognized certification program. Graduate students are not eligible. Applications must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on April 15, 2010. Applications for the following two Nashaway Woman’s Club Scholarships are available: 1. Music and Art – you must be pursuing a degree in music or art. 2. General – no specific degree need be declared. Deadline is Apr. 15.
Statewide Student Aid Program
Students are selected to receive awards based on financial need, academic merit and other non-academic factors such as community service, school activities and work experience. Highest priority is given to students with the fewest financial resources.
- Between the ages of 17 and 23.
- Enrolling in a four-year baccalaureate degree program.
- Enrolling full time or half time; (NOT part time).
Applications must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2011.
Applications for the Nashua Technology Center's Culinary Arts Scholarship are available in C2003. You must be a senior and have been in the Nashua Technology Center’s Culinary Arts program, pursuing a career path toward Culinary Arts, Nutrition or Hotel Restaurant Management. Essay, letters of reference required. Deadline is Apr. 15
Information regarding the National Restaurant Assoc. Educational Foundation Scholarship for first time college freshmen and high school seniors is available at www.nraef.org You must be applying to a foodservice-related post-secondary program. Deadline to apply is Aug. 17
Information regarding the Arch Clinton Luther III Science Scholarship is available in C2003. You must be planning a career in science (not medicine) or engineering. Deadline is Apr. 18
Applications for the ADK Future Teacher Scholarship are available in C2003. You must be a senior pursuing a career in teaching. Letters of reference, transcript, evidence of community service and essay required. Deadline is Apr. 20
The NErrorScriptS South Athletic Boosters Club Scholarship applications are available on their website at www.nashuasouthboosters.org You must be or have been a Varsity athlete or team manager in your senior year. You must have documented volunteer hours approved by the Boosters. Applications must be returned to the Athletic Dept. Deadline is Apr. 22
Applications for the Professional Firefighters of NH scholarship will be available Jan. 1. You must have a strong interest in fire emergency services to apply. Go to www.pffnh.org Deadline is Apr. 30.
The Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship is available at their website at www.phillips-scholarship.org You must have substantial unmet need and rank in the top 20% of your class, be in demanding courses of study and a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Deadline Apr. 30.
Applications for the NH Lodging and Restaurant Assoc. are available to students pursuing a career in hospitality at a post secondary educational institute. Go to www.nhlra.com then Education, then Scholarship. Deadline Apr. 30.
Go to www.willtowinscholarship.com for the Will to Win Scholarship sponsored by Merck Respiratory if you are a senior with asthma who excels in the performing arts, community service, athletics, visual arts or science. Need a minimum GPA 3.5 and have rec’d at least one award related to a category. Deadline is Apr. 30
Applications for the ASCE NH High School Scholarship are available in C2003. Open to current seniors who have been accepted by a four year engineering program. Deadline is Apr. 30
Applications for the NH Teachers of Mathematics Scholarship are available www.nhmathteachers.org You must be planning on majoring in mathematics or mathematics education with intent of becoming a math teacher. Deadline is May 6.
The NHS Class of 1974 scholarship is available in C2003. You must have a GPA of 2.5 or better and have taken the SAT or ACT. Deadline is May 6
Applications for the NHS South Music Boosters Scholarship are available in C2003. You must be active in Chorus, Band and/or Color Guard. You must have service to school and community through participation in the music program. Planned participation in college music activities and/or curriculum will be considered. Deadline May 9
Applications for the Anthony W. Romano & Vernon C. Kelley Memorial Scholarship are available in C2003 to students who are residents of an assisted housing program in NH. Deadline to apply is May 13
Applications for the Pauline Albert Memorial Scholarship are available. You must be or have been an active participant in one of the NHS South Varsity Track programs. Deadline is May 25.
Applications for the Charles W. Buck Memorial Scholarship are available at www.extension.unh.edu then 4H Youth, then Events & Opportunities. You must be pursuing agricultural studies, including pre-veterinary. Deadline to apply May 30.
