Amherst St PTO News

     Thank you to those of you who attended our international dinner and shared all of your delicious homemade meals with us! Thank you to all of the teachers who took the time to attend as well; you are appreciated! We have received one recipe to share. If anyone else would like to share recipes, the PTO will make copies for all.  The student presentations in the gym were amazing; we are quite impressed with all of their hard work!

     Our artwork fundraiser has been extended for a few days. Please turn in all orders by Friday, April 11th.

     Our next family night is approaching quickly. The annual Build-a-Book night will be held on Thursday, April 10th from 5:30pm – 7:00pm. Dinner will be served in the cafeteria at 5:30pm, followed by the Build-a-Book activity. For those of you who have not been to a Build-a-Book night, each child receives a kit that contains a blank book, markers, glue stick, foam pieces and different kinds of paper. The children create their very own masterpieces from these materials. The spring book fair will be open in the library. We will again have the Amherst St. School tee shirts on sale for $3.25 each.

     The penny collection for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, to benefit local children with cancer, amounted to $150.43!  An amazing amount, for 3 weeks!  Thank you so much to all of those who participated!  Remember, all pennies collected for the rest of the school year, will be donated to the American Cancer Society in honor of Mrs. Geer.

The next PTO meeting will be announced.

Cultural enrichment:  April 10th -The Hampstead Players to perform “The Legend of King Arthur”

Family night:  Thursday, April 10th Build-a-Book night and book fair.
