Absences:  If your child is absent you must contact the school and give the child's name and reason of absence.  We have an answering machine on from 3:30 pm through 7:30 am for your convenience during off hours.  If we do not hear from you, it is necessary for us to call you.  Remember, this is for your child's safety!

Vacation trips:   If your child is absent due to a vacation it is considered an unexcused absence.  No work will be given out by the teacher before your trip. If your child is out of school for more than 20 consecutive school days for a trip they will be discharged from their school.

Attendance Letters:  Attendance and tardy letters are sent home to every student who has 5 or more absences/tardies.  Please refer to the District Parent/Student handbook for more information.

Dismissals:  If your child is being dismissed during the day please send a note.  The teacher will make sure your child is ready at the appropriate time.  You must come in and sign your student out in our dismissal log.

Visitors:  All visitors must sign in and out at our office and wear a visitor's badge.  During school hours you may not go to the classrooms unless it has been approved previously by the teacher or an administrator.  If you wish to speak with a teacher, the office staff will take a message.  Any classroom disruption is time away for your child's learning day.  Thank you for your understanding.

Contacting your student's teacher:  You may email them (see the staff page for email links), write a note, or call the office and leave a message.

Medication:  If your child needs to take a prescription medication in school, state law requires a note from the doctor before the nurse can dispense any medication.  A form must also be signed by you indicating recommended dosage. Please do not send any medication in with your child for them to take on their own.  Please call our school nurse if you have any questions.

Immunization:  All children must be fully immunized.  Please notify the nurse if immunization records need to be updated.  Any child entering kindergarten or first grade must be fully immunized and have a physical before entering school.  This is a state law – any child not in compliance will be excluded from school.

Before/After School Program:  Is sponsored and directed by the Adult Learning Ctr. (882-9080) at Bicentennial.  Please call to arrange this service for your child.
