Nursing Policy

If your child stays home sick, please notify the school office.  In the case of serious problems, prolonged illness, a note from your child's physician is required before the student can return to class.

No student will be excused from gym class or recess unless a note is received from the child's physician indicated that the child should not participate because of recent illness or injury.

If your child requires medication during school hours, please remember that you will need a written physician's order and will also need to sign a parental authorization form.  All medication must be brought in by a parent/guardian in the original pharmacy container.

The nurse's office does not maintain a stock of over the counter (OTC) medications.  Parents/guardians need to provide all such medication.  The nurse may at her discretion, and with written parental permission, give any OTC medication in accordance with the label's directions on the package.  Any deviation from these directions will require a separate physician's note.
