Dear Parents and Students,
It is our pleasure to welcome you back to the new school year. The floors are polished and many of the classrooms set up. We just need the voices of excited children.
Enclosed in this mailing is your classroom assignment for the school year, as well as a list of suggested school supplies. The faculty put a great deal of thought and effort into compiling class lists that we believe are balanced in gender, ability, personality and learning style. Well designed classes benefit everyone as teachers are better able to focus on the needs of each student while delivering challenging and stimulating lessons.
For those returning to Bicentennial, there have been some changes. This year we will have four classrooms in grades one, three, four and five. Grade two remains our largest grade level and therefore will have five sections. Kindergarten continues to grow with three classes (two morning and one afternoon) in the building, and a good number of students slated to attend New Searles. Ready to greet you on the first day, September 1st at 8:45, will be both familiar and new faces.
The first day will be here before we know it. Kindergarten students will join us later in the day, with a parent, for their designated Orientation. Specific information for those students is provided in your teacher letter. As in the past, students in grades two, three, four and five will meet teachers outside and be escorted into the building. Please see the attached map for your designated meeting spot. Students arriving by bus will be escorted to the correct meeting place by a faculty member. In the event of inclement weather, students should go directly to their new rooms. Maps and faculty members will be available to guide the way. First grade teachers will meet their students and parents in the school cafeteria, at the far end of the building. After acquainting our newest students to their teachers, parents are invited to remain behind where tissues and coffee will be available.
The City is once again holding “Nashua Goes Back to School” On Thursday, August 27th from 5:00 to 6:30 PM, on the Library Plaza and in the Nashua Public Library building. Everyone is invited to this highly popular event. Available will be information about a variety of programs and services, as well as individual displays representing each school. Bus students are reminded to look for transportation tickets which will arrive by mail.
In closing, enjoy the remainder of your summer break. We look forward to another exciting year.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kyle Marie Langille and Mr. Michael Mahoney
