Mission Statement

Broad St. School Building Goals

Broad Street School is a neighborhood school of approximately 400 students.    There are twenty-one classrooms, including three district wide Special Education Preschool and four Project Achievement Classrooms.  Broad Street has a very strong inclusionary special education model, providing optimum learning experiences for all children.  Dedicated paraprofessionals and our two special education teachers can be seen working with students from age three through age twelve focusing on a multitude of skills.  Academically, Broad Street has made Annual Yearly Progress in both reading and math on our last state-wide assessment.

Staff model life-long learning, participating this year in a school-based reading and writing staff development workshops to sharpen their delivery of literacy instruction. An uninterrupted literacy block has students grouped across the grade level for skill development.

Our active PTO has provided funds for monthly cultural enrichment programs enjoyed by the entire community.  They have also funded most of the cost for the reading and writing workshops.  PTO meetings are well-attended and students are welcomed to participate in student-centered activities as their parents attend the monthly meetings.  The Broad Street PTO recently received the Blue Ribbon Award form NH Partners in Education for the amount of volunteer hours at the school.  We are one of a few schools who have received recognition for over twenty consecutive years.

Broad Street works hard to maintain an environment that is welcoming and caring. Responsive Classroom techniques are used and class meetings are held each day to bring about a sense of community.
