To-Do List for 9TH & 10th Graders
- Continue your team, club, or extracurricular activities. If you haven’t yet joined a team, club, or special activity, now is a great time to start!
- Explore your interest to help you identify possible college majors and career paths. Try the improved Bridges site. Our site ID is 0034778 and our password is apple (all lowercase).
- Access Learning Express through Nashua public library and prepare for PSAT & SAT exams. Anytime you can take advantage of a materials that can help you prepare for the exams will be time well spent.
- Work with eguidance.com and Choices to plan your course selection. This will help you reach your goals to become successful after high school.
- Explore career options in the career center.
- Meet and talk with your school Counselor about yourself and your future. Develop an academic plan, which preserves your options beyond high school. Invite your parents to join you. C
- Take advantage of challenging courses that will reveal your preparedness for college. Take the toughest classes that you can take and still get good grades (B or better).
- Research different college majors and start to develop a list of postsecondary schools with your guidance counselor and the career counselor.
- Attend college fairs in your region.
- Apply for a summer job or volunteer position that will help you to develop new skills or expose you to new career possibilities.
- Increase your exposure to new things: internet surfing, recreational classes, the Discovery Channel, interesting people, reading, and what people tell you that you do well will help to focus your intention. Parents- identify for kids what they do well or seem to capture their interest.
- Balance time of a variety of activities: time management/ organize commitments. Keep an organizer- great way to keep track of time spent on community service, homework, sports, clubs and job hours.
- Sleep and get to school on time and well rested!
