Upper Forum - Career Academies - Grades 11 & 12

Students in an Upper Forum Academy will have the opportunity to select courses from a variety of electives that may be organized in a logical sequence of courses or "pathway" to future goals. A pathway allows the student to explore subjects of interest to the student, to develop or enhance individual talents and to expand one's knowledge of potential careers through internships, portfolios and other real-world experiences.

Since students in grades 11 and 12 have the opportunity to build their own course schedules of primarily elective courses, they are urged to work closely with their guidance counselors, teachers and parents throughout the course selection process. The career academies are broad enough to appeal to all students and flexible in their design to enable students to select courses listed under any Upper Forum Academy.

The four academies include:

·   Academy of Arts, Humanities, & Communication

·   Academy of Math, Science, & Technology

·  Academy of Business & Global Communications

·   Academy of Health & Human Services
