In addition to continuing to practice their skills in regards to carpentry, siding and roofing, they will learn about, and practice, all other aspects of new home construction such as site preparation, cabinet installation, insulation, installation of windows and doors, etc. Students are responsible for the construction of the on-site modular house therefore their hands-on activities are extensive. Students will continue to have opportunities to network within the building industry, participate in community construction projects, and learn about the many diverse career and college/training opportunities available to them after high school graduation.

You will learn how to make reservations using a computer reservation system. Study the basics of selling vacation packages to the leisure traveler as well as designing a travel package for the business traveler. Learn to communicate effectively and handle client/customer needs. Study the airline, cruise, rail, car rental, hospitality industries and learn how to operate your own tourism-based business. Second year students will fabricate parts relying heavily on the use of computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Students will use Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to design components. Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software is then used to virtually machine the CAD designed products at the computer. The CNC machine will accept the program from the computer and a finished part will then be machined. Students will work to tolerances that are as accurate as those used in present day industry. There are a variety of additional hands-on skill based projects that include fixture design and production machining. Students may participate in work-based learning opportunities, which may include job shadows and internships, at local engineering and manufacturing sites. Opportunity for 6 credits for dual enrollment with Nashua Community College.

Laboratory activities focus on refrigeration systems (component installation and repair), pipe fitting, ventilation ducting, airconditioning unit service and furnace and burner service. Students work in teams to research, design and construct a solution to an open-ended engineering problem. They apply principles of robotics and automation to bring their designs to reality. This course builds on the computer solid modeling skills developed in PreEngineering 1. Students use CNC equipment to produce actual models of their three-dimensional designs. They also learn fundamental concepts of design analysis and robotics that are currently used in automated manufacturing. At the end of the school year, students are required to present progress reports, submit a final written report and defend their solution to a panel of outside reviewers.
