MIDDLE SCHOOL PARENTING WORKSHOPS
Welcome to the Elm Street Middle School parent community!
Middle School can be a tumultuous time, both for students and parents. Great changes take place. Students stretch their wings and push their limits. Parents find themselves more disconnected, more uninformed and generally feeling a little confused about their student’s daily lives. We encourage you to stay informed and involved as your child progresses through his/her middle school years. The goal of our PTO is to help parents stay connected, stay informed and continue to be a vital part of their student’s education.
Our first meeting for the 2009/2010 school year will be September 9th at 7:00pm and is entitled “Principally Speaking”. At this meeting attendees will get an opportunity to meet the principal and two assistant principals to hear about changes being made at the school, how discipline is handled, etc. Please join us for the informative event.
Starting in October our meetings will be held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at both 1:00pm and 7:00pm. The 1:00pm meetings will be held in the conference room and the 7:00pm meetings will be held in the library loft. All are welcome and encouraged to attend!
Because sending flyers and notes home with your student doesn’t work in middle school, we also encourage you to join our email distribution list. This is the best way to stay informed about PTO activities and parent opportunities. If you would like to be included on our email distribution list or have any questions about our organization, please send an email to: shaunna.oneil@comcast.net.
We also highly encourage you to sign-up to have Elm St. Middle School’s Daily Announcements emailed directly to you. Daily announcements allow you to keep track of sports, clubs and extra-curricular activities at the school. You can sign-up for Elm’s Daily Announcements on the Nashua School District’s website. (www.nashua.edu).
