Pond Life Unit Resource Page

In this unit we will learn all about the interactions in freshwater ecosystems like the MIll Pond we find on our grounds.  We will explore topics in ecology, biochemistry and cell biology.  In addition to reviewing basic chemistry with a biochemistry focus, we will study the unicellular and multicellular organisms found in a freshwater ecosystem, expose the matter cycling and the energy flow that occurs in ecosystems, explore the properties of water that contribute to life's functions, and analyze how the structures of cell membranes, cytoplasm, and cell walls contribute to the processes of transport and give plants the ability to stand upright.
